SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: PROPOSED PHOTO TOUR OF THE HIGHLANDS, SCOTLAND:
My name is Laine Allen and I have been a professional photographer for 8 years. I am an award winning photographer and a fully accredited photographer with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. I am also a travel and landscape photographer and I am currently in The Highlands.
I am here as I am wanting to establish a photo tour taking people up and down The Highlands. Should these tours go ahead, I will be employing a local driver to take care of the touring aspect whilst I look after the group and photography side of the tour.
I propose the following tour, and am currently seeking expressions of interest before I start setting things in motion. The tours will be either a 6 or 12 day tour, and one that runs in the Winter and Summer.
When replying iif you would be seriously interested in joining, please specify if it is a Winter or Summer tour you are interested in.
During the tours, there will be professional guidance from me in taking beautiful landscape imagery, and also models to photograph in locations of interest. Although this tour has a focus on photography, you do not need to be a photographer of any level to join. There would be plenty to interest you also and guidance in assisting you to take better travel images.
The tour will be limited to 10 places and will cost between $5,000- $7,000. Accomodation may or may not be part of it, but in most cases included except where one decides on alternative accomodation.
The tour will be a thorough exploration of The Highlands starting from Edinburgh and finishing at either Inverness or the Isle of Skye.
Explore Edinburgh. Meeting point at The Royal Mile. Walking through Edinburgh Castle. On day 1 you will have the choice of what landmarks you wish to focus on photographing. We finish the day watching Scottish entertainment and if you so choose.... having a whisky or two getting to know the group.
We start making our way up The Highlands, led by an expert local tour guide.
Our first stop is Linlithgow Palace. You will have the choice of entering the castle or focusing on taking photos from outside the Palace which is beautiful. Palace entry is not included in the tour price.
Linlithgow Palace was featured in the TV series Outlander. It was the scene where Claire was looking for Jaime where he was being brought to his breaking point by Jack Randall.
You will also see the Kelpies, which is the worlds largest equine sculpture created by artist Andy Scott.

We will also stop at Sterling Castle on Day 1 and Doune Castle. It is not my intention to fill a day with too many stops, because the main goal for this tour is for you to have time to become immersed in The Highlands and take as many beautiful photos as you want.
Accomodation most likely in Callandar or Doune.
The choice for some to join me for sunset imagery at Loch Lomond, Loch Lomond and Lochness are the 2 largest Loch's in The Highlands- depending on if you are measuring by length, volume or other.

On day 3 we begin in the town of Callandar at Callandar House. The kitchen was featured in TV series Outlander in Lord Sandringham's home and a tour of the kitchen will be organised and some tasting of traditional foods of that time. We will begin a little later so morning tea can be enjoyed at the Mansion and plenty of time to explore the Mansion and the grounds.
Following Callander House we will spend the remainder of the day embasking in the glory of Loch Lomond and Loch Lubnaig. We will also make a stop at one of the most beautiful photo stop of "Rest and Be Thankful" in the Arrachor Alps. We will spend the night in the village of Glencoe.
On day 4 you will be taken by the tour bus to your chosen place along the Glencoe Valley. You will have a choice of remaining at the Hotel to relax, or to hike or photograph in the Valley of Glencoe.
The tour bus will pick up the hikers at lunch to return to the accomodation to refresh. The tour bus will then take anyone back to Glencoe Valley who wishes to.
The second pick up time will be just before sunrise. You will have the choice of meeting the tour bus in the Valley of Glencoe to return to the Hotel, or those who remained at the Hotel can return to Glencoe to photograph the area at sunset.
We will have a very unique morning planned for us on the morning of Day 5, A model will be present at Glencoe for us to photograph. If you have a goal to include Destination Portraits in your portfolio, this will be exciting to have included in your portraits!
